Annie Leibovitz' Photographic Art

Post by isidore on April 12th 2008, 12:46 am

I know the admin here is a photographer so maybe she'll have some thoughts on this. I don't know pap about photographicating and whatnot, but last weekend I went to this place where I live called The Legion of Honour. They had an exhibit by Annie Leibovitz. All black and white. Some subjects were celebs, naked Cindy Crawford with a huge python wrapped around her for instance. Some photos were outdoor scenes and random situations. I really liked one of this matador-looking dude who was just about to throw a knife at a magician's assistant-looking young lady tied to a spinning wheel. The guy had the most enigmatic smile on his face. Has anyone else seen her work?

Edit: Whoops! Guess this isn't really a book. I'm still learning...

Oooooh, she's one of my favorite photographers!

I also know the picture you are referring to, ever heard of the band "The White Stripes"? It's only this guy and his sister, they kick ass.

This is the image yes?

She's got some other serious stuff, she recreated the scenarios of Alice in Wonderland with a russian top model as Alice and some fashion designers as the other creatures... and of course she's got this Vogue cover with Scarlett Johansson completely bum naked affraid .... ahh don't get me going with Scarlett and her bum hahaha!!! LOL

EDIT.

That is the photo! It was huge-e-mung-guss when I saw it. There was this guy standing to my left sighing for me to move so he could take a gander. I growled at him.

I've never heard the White Stripes, but it looks like they have fun on their off time.
